Does renewal overwrite the old lease?
No. Renewal creates a separate linked draft. The shortcut supports active leases and naturally expired leases up to one year after their end date. Settled leases cannot renew. Review the new dates, people, rooms and amounts before separately activating the renewal; the original lease is not extended.
How do deposits carry over?
Activating a renewal transfers eligible paid deposit receipts from an unsettled predecessor, retaining their original receipt provenance. Draft creation alone moves nothing; carryover is not new collection or a refund. Create renewal first-rent and deposit-difference invoices manually.
What does workspace settlement do?
Review collected deposits, outstanding charges, additional charges and the refund or balance due. Confirmation closes included charges, records a positive refund or creates an unpaid balance invoice, ends the lease and marks the deposit settled. Balance invoices queue normal notifications. A refund record does not transfer money for you.
Is LINE lease termination the same as workspace settlement?
No. Standalone termination preserves history but does not settle the deposit. The LINE deposit-refund tool currently records one net refund and ends the lease without allocating or closing charge invoices like workspace settlement does. Use the workspace review flow for detailed deductions and a remaining balance.
